Our Holiday House showhouse lounge embodies the essence of the summer solstice through a strategic interplay of light, color, and reflection. This "sparkling jewel box" demonstrates our ability to conceptualize a complete design narrative within a compact space.
From Farrow & Ball's Yukutori wallpaper pattern (showing abstracted birds in flight) in a vibrant green colorway to the ceiling and lower wainscoting's decorative watercolor treatment evoking sunrise colors. Reflective surfaces, including mirrored Maison Gerard side tables under stone shelves, enhance the room's luminosity.
Kathryne Hall's silver-leafed rays emanating from Roll and Hill's sconces to enhance sparkle and suggest sunlight; Syra Gomez sculpted and installed individual porcelain flowers throughout the space; and Paul Thomas's rainbow painting speaks to refracted summer sunlight.
To maintain cohesion while incorporating various summer-inspired elements, we balanced the light and reflective aspects with weightier pieces—including a grey settee and black (yet still reflective) side tables. Visitors particularly appreciated the custom art pieces that transformed the intimate space into an immersive experience.
